Q: Why? A: To entertain and inform you. To bring you information about who we all are. To help strengthen family relationships among families and extended families. To express myself and my creativity.
Q: Who are you? A: I'm Tim Marini, or Timmy. I am 31 years old and live with my wife, Rachel and son, Wyatt, in Utah. I've been creating this website since late October of 2001! Peter Yorke, Rachel's dad, provided the first web server to me and more recently, David Yorke, Rachel's brother, has been providing the server space. Without them, this project would not have been possible without much higher costs. I am very technically-minded and have a bit of a creativity streak as well. I love this project and hope you all enjoy it as well!
Q: What are those items under the menu? A: By clicking the Firefox 2 item, you will be directed to a page to download the latest Firefox web browser. Firefox is superior in many ways to Internet Explorer. It's more secure, it loads many pages quickly, and has convenient tabbed browsing. If you would like to donate some money to our project or have any reason to easily send money to me, you can use the Paypal link. If you have your own Paypal account, there are no fees charged whereas if you just use a credit/debit card, there will be a small charge for processing.
Q: Why have ads? A: By you clicking on the Google Ads, you help support our work here. We try to filter out any inappropriate links to keep with the family-oriented themes in the site. It is worth a few pennies per click, but over time, it can pay off. I've tried to design the page so the ads aren't intrusive yet accessable.
Q: What web authoring software is used? A: I use a very special and exclusive web authoring package known as MS Notepad (see below). Our servers run on Apple Macintosh Server OS with Intel Core2Duo processors. We also use PHP ver. 4 for some of the coding and scripts. Our site is served by Apache web server software.
Q: How come the site looks a little different on another computer? A: There are many different web browsers such as IE and Firefox that interpret HTML code somewhat differently. This causes some usually slight visual differences. I take a lot of extra time to cross-check the site on these different browsers. The goal here is to provide a solid and consistent presentation for you, our many viewers and your different computers and software.
Q: How can I contact you if I find something wrong? A: Please contact us at webmaster at marinifamily dot org to let us know what you find that needs fixing or addressed in any way.
Q: What do you have planned in the near future? A: So much! I will continuously keep updating and tweeking the page design and adding new content. That's just what I do. I will be changing the content on the Family page to feature a different family or person every couple weeks or so. Let's grow this thing together! I need your feedback more than ever!
